Another interesting recipe from a friend's American Historical Society of German Russian pioneer cookbook, Kuche Kochen.
"It is excellent, really makes plants grow:"
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp Epson salt
1/2 tsp saltpeter (drugstore)
1/4 tsp houshold amonia
Mix in 2 quarts tepid water. Use once a month.
